PhotographyAndCinema.com is quickly making a name for itself throughout the industry for well designed, durable hardware that is very reasonably priced.
Their latest product announcement – The Gearbox – adds yet another terrific product to their line of camera equipment.
The Gearbox GB-1 comes with two black anodized metal brackets and a pair of rubber coated handles.
The plates have a total of 28 mount points with both threaded and non threaded holes for mounting hot shoe adapters or mini ball heads.
This piece of gear packs up very small and very light for travel.
The handles can be lengthened with this pair of included extenders which add an inch and a half to the height.
The internal dimensions of the cage is 6″ with the extenders, and 4 and a half inches without. The gear box has an internal width of 8″ from handle to handle.
This flexibility makes it very easy to mount a variety of camera bodies, from traditional HDSLR’s all the way down to a point and shoot.
The GB-1 gear box is very extremely versatile. As you can see, it can be deployed on top of a traditional tripod, it can fly on its own as a very portable hand held rig, mount it on a mono pod …or you can pair it with the inexpensive, yet very functional Cowboy Studio shoulder mount for a very light, very inexpensive and very effective rig.
P&C offers a second version of the gearbox — the GB-2 — which comes with the gearbox, as well as this mounting option:
A pair of 15mm rods and a tripod mount, streamlining the process of adding rail mounted gear to your set-up
If you need a cage, you need the Gearbox.
